Labour hire for NDIS and community services
Cover the shift.
Keep the
service running.
We supply screened disability support workers to providers across Greater Sydney and regional NSW. One shift at short notice, a block roster for planned leave, or a full transition workforce while you set up a new service.
Who we are
Workforce cover without a drop in standards
Flexi Community Work is a workforce partner for Australia's disability and community services sector. We supply skilled, screened and trained support workers to providers who need dependable people for work that cannot wait for a recruitment round.
We are a sister company to Interactive Workforce Solutions, and we share the same operating standards, the same compliance discipline, and the same after-hours capability. Flexi exists for the flexible end of the work: shift by shift cover, block rosters, and full transition workforces for services that are still being set up.
Our focus is simple. Attentive, person centred support delivered by a workforce that is ready, capable and accountable.
What we do
Trained and compliant workers for teams that cannot afford gaps

- Emergency shift cover
- Public holidays included
What we cover
Four ways providers use us
Most providers start with one urgent shift and stay for the planned work. Pick the arrangement that matches the gap you are managing.
Call-out and sick leave cover
Someone has not shown for a sleepover and the house cannot be left unstaffed.
- Requests taken 24 hours, 7 days
- Named worker confirmed, not just a promise
- Escalation contact for the whole shift
Leave and roster block cover
Annual leave, parental leave, workers compensation, or a vacancy you are still recruiting for.
- Same worker across the block where possible
- Fixed roster pattern agreed up front
- Consistency for participants, not a new face weekly
Transition workforce for new services
You have a new SIL house, SDA dwelling, or program starting and no team yet.
- Full roster staffed from day one
- Scales down as your permanents come on
- Removes the pressure to hire in a hurry
Ongoing and temp to perm
Keep a worker on our books indefinitely, or move them across to your payroll.
- Try before you hire, on real shifts
- No transfer fee after the agreed period
- Handover of the full credential file
How it works
From gap to covered, in four steps
The order matters here. We do not send anyone until the credential check and your inductions are done.
You send the shift
Form, phone, or email. House, times, support needs, and any non-negotiables such as gender preference or hoist training.
We match on credentials
We filter on clearance status, skills, location, and prior familiarity with the house. Availability alone is not a match.
You get the worker pack
Name, verified identity, screening clearance number and expiry, training records, and confirmation your induction is complete.
Shift runs and is signed off
Clock-on confirmed, a contactable coordinator for the duration, and a timesheet you approve before we invoice.
Why providers choose us
People matched to the support need, with person centred active support at the core
Well trained and fully compliant
Skilled people, ready for the work, with the checks and the paperwork already behind them.
PCAS trained
Person centred active support: the right amount of support, never too much, never too little.
Inclusive and diverse workforce
A team that reflects the communities we serve, which makes matching on participant preference realistic.
Safety and safeguarding first
Work health, safety and safeguarding sit at the heart of every placement, not in an appendix.
Settings, in detail
Pick your setting, see how we staff it
Each setting fails differently when a shift falls over. So each one is staffed differently.
Supported Independent Living
A SIL house cannot run short, full stop. The risk is overnight and at handover, so that is where we concentrate: active nights, sleepovers, and morning personal care, with the same worker returning wherever the roster allows.
- Typical gapsSick leave call-outs, sleepover no-shows, vacancy cover while recruiting
- We sendWorkers briefed on participant profiles and your house rules before arrival
- ContinuitySame worker across a block wherever possible, not a new face every shift
- OvernightActive night and sleepover rates quoted separately, allowances applied correctly
Specialist Disability Accommodation
SDA dwellings pair the building with the support. We match on the competencies the dwelling design assumes: hoist and transfer, emergency evacuation familiarity, and assistive technology in use at the property.
- Typical gapsOnsite support roster gaps, concierge cover, new dwelling activation
- We sendWorkers with hoist, manual handling and the specific competencies the dwelling requires
- New buildsTransition workforce from settlement to full occupancy, scaling down as your team builds
- DocumentationNotes and incident reports written to the standard your SDA audits expect
Short Term Accommodation and respite
STA runs on unfamiliarity: new participants, short stays, changing needs. We staff it with workers who read a support plan properly and settle a person quickly, because there is no second week to get it right.
- Typical gapsWeekend surges, school holiday blocks, single-stay 1:1 supports
- We sendWorkers comfortable meeting a participant for the first time and following the plan as written
- FlexibilityShort blocks and odd-shaped shifts accepted, priced as quoted with no surcharge surprises
- HandoverProgress notes completed before the worker leaves the building
Community participation
Community access lives or dies on reliability and transport. A cancelled outing is not a rescheduled meeting, it is somebody's plans for the week. Drivers with insured vehicles are flagged in our system so the match is right the first time.
- Typical gapsProgram staffing, group outings, 1:1 community access, transport runs
- We sendWorkers matched on interests and participant preference, not just availability
- TransportDrivers with comprehensively insured vehicles identified before we offer a name
- GroupsRatio-appropriate staffing for day programs and group activities
In-home and personal care
One worker, one home, no colleague down the hall. That makes the screening file and the participant's preferences everything. Gender preference, cultural fit and language are treated as requirements, not nice-to-haves.
- Typical gapsRegular worker on leave, morning and evening routine cover, meal support
- We sendWorkers who match the participant's stated preferences, confirmed with you first
- Lone workCheck-in procedures for solo shifts, escalation contact for the duration
- ConsistencyA small, stable set of names rather than a rotating cast
Person centred support
Support that feels personal
A shift is not a slot to be filled. It is somebody's morning, somebody's evening routine, somebody's night. We match respectful, capable workers to the needs of each provider and participant, and we favour continuity over convenience wherever the roster allows it.
That is why we send the same worker back to the same house when we can, why we ask about participant preferences before we offer a name, and why we brief every worker on the support plan before they walk in the door.

Compliance
The credential file is the product
Anyone can find a body for a shift. What protects your registration is the evidence behind that person. We verify the following before a worker takes a first shift, and we track every expiry date so nothing lapses mid-roster.
Who holds what
You direct the work and the supports are delivered under your registration and your policies. We hold the employment relationship, payroll, superannuation, workers compensation, public liability, and the screening and training file. Both sides are set out in a written labour hire agreement before the first shift.
- NDIS Worker Screening CheckCleared status verified, clearance number and five year expiry recorded and monitored.
- NDIS Worker Orientation ModuleQuality, Safety and You completed, certificate on file.
- National Police CheckCurrent check held, with a declared refresh cycle.
- Working with Children CheckHeld and verified where the placement involves participants under 18.
- First aid and CPRCurrent certificates, CPR refreshed annually.
- Right to work in AustraliaIdentity and visa conditions confirmed, including any hour limits.
- Role specific competenciesManual handling and hoist, medication assistance, PEG, catheter care, epilepsy, or mealtime management, matched to the shift.
- Two reference checksSpoken to a prior disability or community services employer, notes on file.
- Your induction, not just oursHouse rules, participant profiles, and your incident reporting pathway signed off before shift one.
Featured service
After-hours on-call, 5pm to 9am
The hardest shifts to fill are the ones nobody is at their desk for. We work with you to tailor an after-hours on-call service around your existing internal systems, then operationalise it for you, so you have genuine peace of mind overnight, on weekends, and on public holidays.
Emergency shift cover
Responsive cover when a gap appears at 2am and the house cannot be left unstaffed.
Robust incident reporting
Clear, timely documentation that protects participants, providers and workers, written to survive an audit.
Progress notes that hold up
High quality records that make continuity of support easier and give your team something usable at handover.
Roles and settings
Who we supply, and where they work
If a role is not listed, ask. We will tell you plainly whether we can fill it or not.
Roles we supply
Settings we staff
We do not supply behaviour support practitioners or allied health professionals. Those roles carry their own approval and registration requirements, and we will refer you on rather than pretend otherwise.
Where we operate
Based in North Kellyville, servicing key NSW regions
If your service sits outside these areas, ask anyway. We will tell you plainly whether we can staff it reliably rather than take the booking and hope.

Rates and terms
How the charging works
Labour hire pricing gets murky fast. Here is ours in plain terms, before you ask.
- One rate per shift type
- You get an hourly rate for each shift type you use, quoted in writing before you accept anything. Weekday, evening, weekend, public holiday, sleepover, and active night are priced separately.
- What the rate includes
- Wages, superannuation, leave entitlements, workers compensation, public and products liability, professional indemnity, payroll processing, and the screening and training administration.
- Award compliance
- Workers are paid under the applicable modern award, with the correct penalty rates, shift loadings, broken shift and sleepover allowances applied. Rate breakdowns available on request.
- No fill, no fee
- If we cannot cover a shift, there is no charge and no retainer. You are not paying us to try.
- Timesheets and invoicing
- You approve the timesheet before we invoice. Invoices are itemised by house, worker, date, and shift type so they reconcile against your roster.
- Temp to perm
- Take a worker onto your own payroll at no transfer fee after the agreed qualifying period. Before that period, a pro-rata fee applies. It is written into the agreement, never sprung on you later.
- Cancellations
- Cancel a confirmed shift with the agreed notice at no charge. Inside that window, the worker is paid and the shift is billed. This is how we keep good workers available for you.

Questions
What providers ask us first
For a straightforward shift in an area we already staff, usually within the hour. Complex care, a specific gender requirement, or a remote location takes longer. We will tell you a realistic time when you call rather than commit and then go quiet.
We are. We hold the employment relationship, pay wages and superannuation, and carry workers compensation and public liability. You direct the day to day work at your site. Both sides are set out in a written labour hire agreement before the first shift.
Yours, for anything to do with support delivery: participant plans, house rules, medication procedures, and your incident reporting pathway. Supports are delivered under your registration, so your systems govern the shift. Ours cover employment matters such as pay, leave, conduct, and work health and safety obligations we share with you as the host.
[Confirm and replace this answer before you publish.] State your actual registration status plainly here. If you are not registered, say so and explain that you supply workers who deliver supports under the host provider's registration. Do not imply registration, endorsement, or approval that you do not hold.
Tell us and we replace them. If the fit issue is apparent in the first two hours of the first shift, we do not bill those hours. If it is a conduct or safeguarding concern, we follow your incident process first and ours second, and the worker does not return to your site pending review.
Yes to all three. Each is quoted as its own shift type with the correct award allowance applied, so you can see exactly what an overnight costs before you commit to a roster pattern.
[Replace with your actual service area.] Be specific about the suburbs or regions you can genuinely staff. Listing an area you cannot cover costs you more in reputation than the enquiry is worth.
Yes. After the agreed qualifying period there is no transfer fee, and we hand over the credential file. Before that period, a pro-rata fee applies. The terms sit in the agreement from day one.
You have a gap this week. Let us close it.
Send us the shift and we will come back with a named worker, their clearance details, and a rate. No retainer, no lock-in.
